In- Home Evaluation
Fire Ready Consultants will give you the peace of mind that you have the proper functioning in-home fire safety equipment. Recommendations are made based on the NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) codes, standards and local guidelines.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
An estimated 2,900 clothes dryer fires in residential buildings are reported to U.S. fire departments and cause about 5 deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property losses each year. We include dryer vent cleaning with our service and provide before and after pictures.
Smoke Alarm Evaluation
Per NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), almost three out of five home fire deaths were caused by fires in properties with no smoke alarms or ones that failed to operate. The risk of dying in reported home structure fires is 55% lower in homes with working smoke alarms. We will test your smoke detectors and their power source to verify that they will operate when needed. We will also install additional smoke detectors, if needed, to make sure your home is properly equipped. Our service includes the first 5 detectors in your home. Additional units are $5/ea.
Carbon Monoxide Detector Testing
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a gas known as the "silent killer". The nickname comes from its odorless, tasteless, and colorless qualities and CO poisoning can happen undetected. The only line of defense you have is the CO detector. These units are good for 5-7 years and should be tested annually. This is included in our service.
GFCI Outlet Check
Ground-fault circuit interrupter (GCFI) outlets are an important electrical safety device in your home and need to be checked regularly. These circuit breakers are designed to protect people and the electrical system when there is an electrical surge by automatically shutting off power to appliances. These are typically located near water sources inside/outside of your home.
We include this in our service.
Fire Safety Packet with Evacuation Plan
Every second counts when it comes to house fires and being able to get out safely. In just 30 seconds a small flame will start to spread rapidly. Within just 5 minutes an entire house could be completely engulfed in flames. Making sure you and your family have a plan is one of the most important tools you can have when you are racing against the clock. We work with you to develop a plan specifically for your house which is included in our service.
Chimney Shoot Inspections
The NFPA Standard 211 states that chimneys, fireplaces, and vents should be inspected annually for structural integrity and cleanliness. A level-one chimney inspection includes a visual check of the fireplace and chimney with a scope camera without climbing on the roof. This is an extra charge and can be done when the technician is onsite.
Fire Protection Products
Our technicians will come equipped with various fire preparedness and emergency escape products that will be available to purchase upon service.
